This CD will begin to bring Carsten Dahl the world-recognition that he so richly deserves. This live album was recorded in Denmark in the Spring, 2000, featuring pianist Carsten Dahl, that year’s winner of the Danish portion of the highly prestigious international jazz award, the JAZZPAR Prize. Dahl is accompanied by four other highly respected European musicians, including British saxophonist Tony Coe, who won the JAZZPAR Prize in 1995. The CD consists of six original compositions – three of which are by Carsten Dahl. The music contains elements of mainstream and avant-garde jazz, plus folk music influences (especially Nordic) and a little funk. Dahl is already one of the best musicians to appear on the richly fertile Danish jazz scene in recent times, and day by day continues developing his personal musical voice and piano mastery. Este CD comenzará a dar a Carsten Dahl el reconocimiento mundial que tanto merece. Este álbum en directo se grabó en Dinamarca en la primavera de 2000, con el pianista Carsten Dahl, ganador ese año de la parte danesa del prestigioso premio internacional de jazz, el JAZZPAR. Dahl está acompañado por otros cuatro músicos europeos muy respetados, entre ellos el saxofonista británico Tony Coe, que ganó el Premio JAZZPAR en 1995. El CD consta de seis composiciones originales, tres de las cuales son de Carsten Dahl. La música contiene elementos de jazz convencional y de vanguardia, además de influencias de música folclórica (especialmente nórdica) y un poco de funk. Dahl es ya uno de los mejores músicos que han aparecido en la fértil escena del jazz danés en los últimos tiempos, y día a día sigue desarrollando su personal voz musical y su maestría al piano.
