This CD reissues one of the first Enja recordings, a trio outing for pianist Mal Waldron, bassist Jimmy Woode and drummer Pierre Favre. Waldron has continued to evolve through the decades while keeping his basic sound. A master at using repetition and brooding chords, Waldron is in excellent form on five of his originals plus Woode's brief "M.C," playing with a knowledge of the avant-garde but still connected to the hard bop tradition.

Este CD reedita una de las primeras grabaciones de Enja, un trío formado por el pianista Mal Waldron, el bajista Jimmy Woode y el baterista Pierre Favre. Waldron ha seguido evolucionando a lo largo de las décadas, pero manteniendo su sonido básico. Un maestro en el uso de la repetición y los acordes melancólicos, Waldron está en excelente forma en cinco de sus originales más el breve "M.C" de Woode, tocando con un conocimiento de la vanguardia pero aún conectado a la tradición del hard bop.
