Chick Corea & Hubert Laws • Ultimate Classical + Improvisation Collaboration

 

Chick and I began our musical collaborations at Juilliard in 1961, and our first recordings together were in 1965 in NYC.
Our last collaborative recordings were in December 2020 before his untimely death in 2021. Four of the 12 tracks we do here on this album represent the beginning of Chick's expressed desire to complete a CD of piano and flute duos. The added supplemental tracks represent my "lament" and tribute to the most ineffable mentor and musician I know.

Chick y yo comenzamos nuestras colaboraciones musicales en Juilliard en 1961, y nuestras primeras grabaciones juntos fueron en 1965 en NYC.
Nuestras últimas grabaciones en colaboración fueron en diciembre de 2020, antes de su prematura muerte en 2021. Cuatro de las 12 pistas que hacemos aquí en este álbum representan el comienzo del deseo expresado por Chick de completar un CD de dúos de piano y flauta. Las pistas complementarias añadidas representan mi "lamento" y homenaje al mentor y músico más inefable que conozco.
