US jazz tenor saxophonist and clarinetist
Born 13 April 1906 in Chicago, Illinois,
Died 15 March 1991 in the same city.
Freeman started on C melody saxophone in 1923. In 1925 he switched to tenor saxophone. He was one of the most influential jazz tenorists of the swing era.
