Lester Young How to Make a Pork Pie Hat

 
 
The Pork Pie Hat. Silent film comedian Buster Keaton was famous for wearing one and Art Carney’s character Ed Norton from “The Honeymooners” was another who wore one as did actors Gene Hackman (in “The French Connection”) and Robert DeNiro (in “Mean Streets”). But the man who we focus on here is Lester Young and here he shows how to make one courtesy of a November 1949 article in “Our World” magazine.
