'I've been in regular contact with Django's heirs for several years now, in the same way as I've been working with Angelo Debarre over quite some time. Nevertheless, my solitary escapades, especially my trips to New York, gave me the chance to play with Brazilian musicians such as Romero Lubambo or Joyce and Yvan Lins, and this in turn gave rise to a daring wager that I harbored secretly for several months - that of bringing together the timeless melodies of a genius of harmony with the vivid rhythms of the Brazilian repertoire in the bossa nova and maracatu range. My meeting with guitarist Thierry Moncheny and percussionist Matthieu Guillemant, both Brazilian by adoption through their music and their extended stay in the country of the choro, simply reinforced my very real desire to record an album in this direction.' - Ludovic Beier

Llevo varios años en contacto regular con los herederos de Django, del mismo modo que he trabajado con Angelo Debarre durante bastante tiempo. Sin embargo, mis escapadas en solitario, especialmente mis viajes a Nueva York, me dieron la oportunidad de tocar con músicos brasileños como Romero Lubambo o Joyce e Yvan Lins, y esto a su vez dio lugar a una atrevida apuesta que albergaba en secreto desde hacía varios meses: la de unir las melodías intemporales de un genio de la armonía con los vivos ritmos del repertorio brasileño en la gama de la bossa nova y el maracatu. Mi encuentro con el guitarrista Thierry Moncheny y el percusionista Matthieu Guillemant, ambos brasileños de adopción por su música y su larga estancia en el país del choro, no hizo más que reforzar mi deseo real de grabar un álbum en esta dirección". - Ludovic Beier
