Flight 426 • High Octane Hammond

 

 

I have a passion for great Hammond Organ playing. I've played keyboards for many years in several bands and decided to focus on the instrument that I love the best and make this album. I teamed up with my good friend and great drummer Richard Te One and guitarist Chris Armour to try and create a record made with passion that really connects with people. The recording was done at STL Studios, Wellington, New Zealand using some great vintage and modern gear. No reverb has been added to the Hammond Organ or drums. Room mikes were used for this which I think has really added to the feel of the music. I have also used my beloved Minimoog D model on track 2 (Theme from Starsky & Hutch ) for the bass and a lead break. I played bass on the Hammond Organ for all the other tracks. Valve amps and custom Leslie used throughout. I hope that people enjoy the music as much as we enjoyed making the record. - Bruce Prothero

Me apasiona tocar bien el órgano Hammond. He tocado teclados durante muchos años en varias bandas y decidí centrarme en el instrumento que más me gusta y hacer este disco. Me asocié con mi buen amigo y gran batería Richard Te One y el guitarrista Chris Armour para intentar crear un disco hecho con pasión que realmente conecte con la gente. La grabación se realizó en los STL Studios de Wellington (Nueva Zelanda), con un magnífico equipo antiguo y moderno. No se ha añadido reverberación al órgano Hammond ni a la batería. Para ello se utilizaron micrófonos de sala, lo que creo que ha contribuido mucho a la sensación que transmite la música. También he utilizado mi querido Minimoog D en la pista 2 (Tema de Starsky & Hutch) para el bajo y una pausa. Toqué el bajo con el órgano Hammond en todas las demás pistas. Utilicé amplificadores de válvulas y Leslie personalizados en todo el disco. Espero que la gente disfrute de la música tanto como nosotros disfrutamos haciendo el disco. - Bruce Prothero
