Stunning duets between JR Monterose and Tommy Flanagan – a record that we love not so much for Flanagan's lyrical accompaniment on piano (however great), but for Monterose's beautiful blowing in such an unfettered setting! There's a gentle grace to JR's horn on the set – both tenor and soprano – a sense of interpretation that opens up magically with tones and feelings that are extremely captivating – fragile, yet soulful – and always beautifully blown. Titles include "Theme For Ernie", "Vinnie's Pad", "Twelve Tone Tune", "Never Let Me Go", "Con Alma", "Pain & Suffering And A Little Pleasure", and "Central Park West".
