Diving into Straight Out The Garden by the On The Spot Trio is an exhilarating ride for fans of gritty, organ-driven soul jazz and high-octane instrumental funk. Featuring Danny Mayer’s biting guitar lines, Kris Yunker’s swirling Hammond organ and clavinet grooves, and Jeff Wilson’s tight, locked-in pocket percussion, the album bottles the raw, sweaty energy of their renowned live sets. Tracks flow effortlessly between deep swampy funk grooves and blistering improvisational jams, showing off an intuitive chemistry that keeps groove enthusiasts hooked from start to finish.
