Review from Jazz thing (by Rolf Thomas): The musicians of the Hamburg label Skip Records demonstrate an impressive range on this concert recording. For the label's 20th anniversary, the Laeiszhalle was transformed into an intimate jazz club. Emil Brandqvist's trio, with pianist Tuomas Turunen, delivers poetic music, while the Tingvall Trio represents another successful facet of the label's contemporary sound. Omar Sosa brings Cuban influences, while Caro Josée and Nina Attal provide contrasting vocal colors. Particularly memorable are the unexpected musical encounters, including Joo Kraus joining Caro Josée and Ingolf Burkhardt appearing with the Tingvall Trio. The album opens with "Requiem", performed by an all-star ensemble in memory of vibraphonist Wolfgang Schlüter. The recording thus combines individual performances with unusual collaborations and presents a broad portrait of the Skip Records family.
