Review from All Music Guide (by Scott Yanow): This two-CD set brings together four complete albums from Georgie Auld's work between 1951 and 1963. The first disc combines a 1951 quintet session with Frank Rosolino and a 1959 septet devoted largely to repertoire associated with Benny Goodman. The second disc contains two 1963 quintet albums, one again featuring Rosolino and the other presenting Auld as the sole horn alongside Larry Bunker, Johnny Gray, Leroy Vinnegar and Mel Lewis. Yanow emphasizes Auld's evolution from his earlier swing influences toward a softer Lester Young-influenced sound and describes the collection as a substantial document of his later work.
