Ronobir Lahiri is a Calcutta-trained sitarist, student of Sri Deepak Choudhuri, a leading disciple of Pandit Ravi Shankar. He trained on classical sitar as a teenager in Calcutta, India, following the formal Hindustani classical tradition. He later earned a BA in Theater Studies & Literature from Yale University.

After nearly two decades in the classical tradition, he began blending sitar with electronic and pop textures, releasing albums such as Broad Strokes and Hypnosis: Deep House Sitar. He later reimagined chart hits as "Sitar Covers", including 2021's Redemption Sitar. He has recorded with Katy Perry, Ziggy Marley, Jaden Smith and Lil Nas X, and has performed at the Hollywood Bowl with Blue Man Group. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his family.

Ronobir Lahiri es un sitarista formado en Calcuta, estudiante de Sri Deepak Choudhuri, uno de los principales discípulos de Pandit Ravi Shankar. Estudió sitar clásico de adolescente en Calcuta, India, siguiendo la tradición clásica formal del hindustaní.
