Slipping under the radar this low-key reissue of Matthew Halsall's classic 2011 album should not be ignored. Rather than simply revisiting the original tapes for a first vinyl issue, Halsall commissioned a full remix and remaster by George Atkins and added three previously unreleased bonus tracks inspired by Miles Davis' soundtrack to *Ascenseur Pour L'Echafaud*. The result expands the original six-track album into a nine-track edition with significant sonic improvements, bringing greater clarity, depth and presence to the performances. The original album was already widely acclaimed, but this Special Edition surpasses it through both its enhanced sound and the quality of the additional material, making it the definitive version of one of Halsall's finest recordings. Esta discreta reedicion del clasico album de Matthew Halsall de 2011 no deberia pasar desapercibida. En lugar de limitarse a reutilizar las cintas originales para una primera edicion en vinilo, Halsall encargo una nueva mezcla y remasterizacion completa a George Atkins y agrego tres temas ineditos inspirados en la banda sonora de Miles Davis para *Ascenseur Pour L'Echafaud*. El resultado amplia el album original de seis temas a una edicion de nueve pistas con mejoras sonoras significativas, aportando mayor claridad, profundidad y presencia a las interpretaciones. El album original ya habia recibido un amplio reconocimiento, pero esta Edicion Especial lo supera tanto por la calidad de sonido como por el valor de las nuevas composiciones, convirtiendose en la version definitiva de una de las mejores grabaciones de Halsall.
