Nigel Price needs no introduction as one of the leading guitarists in the UK, and hot on his heels is the young French guitarist, Alban Claret. Putting the two together to form a quartet was an inspired idea.
It may be unusual to find a quartet with a two-guitar front line, but with Entente Cordiale we are presented with just that, in an excellent album that takes us on a journey that features some of the great jazz composers of the 20th century. Some of the compositions are old friends while others may be less familiar, but all are handled with authenticity and originality that ensures that the integrity of the composer is uppermost while the quartet are able to breathe life into the music in way that allows for some fiery and lyrical solos form both guitarists, superbly and sympathetically accompanied by bassist Mikele Montolli and Matt Fishwick on drums.

Nigel Price no necesita presentación como uno de los guitarristas más importantes del Reino Unido, y le pisa los talones el joven guitarrista francés Alban Claret. Juntar a los dos para formar un cuarteto fue una idea inspiradora.
Puede ser inusual encontrar un cuarteto con una línea frontal de dos guitarras, pero con Entente Cordiale se nos presenta precisamente eso, en un excelente álbum que nos lleva a un viaje que presenta a algunos de los grandes compositores de jazz del siglo XX. Algunas de las composiciones son viejas amigas, mientras que otras pueden ser menos familiares, pero todas se manejan con autenticidad y originalidad que aseguran que la integridad del compositor sea lo más importante, mientras que el cuarteto puede dar vida a la música de una manera que permite algunos solos ardientes y líricos de ambos guitarristas, magníficamente y con simpatía acompañados por el bajista Mikele Montolli y Matt Fishwick en la batería.
