IRIO DE PAULA (1939-2017)
El 10 de mayo de 1939 nació en Rio de Janeiro el guitarrista y compositor brasileño de jazz, samba y bossa nova Irio de Paula. Autodidacta con la guitarra, perteneció al grupo Brasil 40 Graos y grabó un álbum con ellos en 1966. En 1970 se instaló en Italia y trabajó con la cantante Elza Soares así como con Chico Buarque. Contribuyó en 1973 a la banda sonora del film ‘L’ultima neve di primavera’ con el tema ‘Criança’ que fue un hit en Italia. Lideró pequeños combos aunque solía actuar en solitario o como dúo con la cantante y guitarrista italiana Giovanna Marinuzzi (Irio e Gio). También se le puede oir en álbumes de Romano Mussolini, Lee Konitz y Renato Sellani y trabajó asimismo con Gato Barbieri, Chet Baker, Tal Farlow y Archie Shepp. - wiki

Brazilian jazz, samba and bossa nova guitarist and composer Irio de Paula was born in Rio de Janeiro on 10 May 1939. Self-taught on the guitar, he belonged to the group Brasil 40 Graos and recorded an album with them in 1966. In 1970 he settled in Italy and worked with the singer Elza Soares as well as with Chico Buarque. In 1973 he contributed to the soundtrack of the film 'L'ultima neve di primavera' with the song 'Criança' which was a hit in Italy. He led small combos although he used to perform solo or as a duo with the Italian singer and guitarist Giovanna Marinuzzi (Irio e Gio). He can also be heard on albums by Romano Mussolini, Lee Konitz and Renato Sellani and worked with Gato Barbieri, Chet Baker, Tal Farlow and Archie Shepp. - wiki
