Review

Pianist Eddie Higgins' third album as a leader (following an obscurity for Replica and a Vee Jay LP) features his regular Chicago-based trio of the era, a group with bassist Richard Evans and drummer Marshall Thompson. A mainstream pianist with an open ear toward more modern harmonies, Higgins explores such numbers as his "Tango Africaine," "Django," "Beautiful Dreamer," and "Makin' Whoopee" with equal sensitivity and plenty of swing.

El tercer álbum del pianista Eddie Higgins como líder (después de una oscuridad por Replica y un LP de Vee Jay) presenta a su trío habitual de la época en Chicago, un grupo con el bajista Richard Evans y el baterista Marshall Thompson. Un pianista convencional con un oído abierto a las armonías más modernas, Higgins explora números como su "Tango Africaine", "Django", "Beautiful Dreamer" y "Makin' Whoopee" con igual sensibilidad y mucho swing.
