This release contains all existing live performances by the Donald Byrd - Pepper Adams Quintet taped at Jorgie's on June 24, 1961, and appearing here on CD for the first time ever (the first four tracks were issued on a collector VGM LP).
The quintet on this engagement featured Herbie Hancock on piano; both leaders had recently recorded the Blue Note Chant with the pianist, and would make the LP Royal Flush with him a few months later. The fifth title at Jorgie's is an extended trio version of Like Someone in Love on which both horns sit out. No other version of this tune by Hancock is known to exist.

Este lanzamiento contiene todas las actuaciones en directo existentes del Donald Byrd - Pepper Adams Quintet grabadas en Jorgie's el 24 de junio de 1961, y que aparecen aquí en CD por primera vez (las cuatro primeras pistas se publicaron en un LP VGM de coleccionista).
El quinteto en este compromiso contó con Herbie Hancock al piano; ambos líderes habían grabado recientemente el Blue Note Chant con el pianista, y harían el LP Royal Flush con él unos meses más tarde.
