With
more than fifteen years of activity Alma Swing is now a reference in
the hot jazz scene where Parisian-American swing of the Thirties mergers
with a timeless folklore. In an old-style silhouette and a traditional
acoustic line up, the ensemble, composed of Lino Brotto (main guitar),
Mattia Martorano (violin), Andrea Boschetti (rhythm guitar) and Beppe
Pilotto (double bass), plays with individual flare music whose modernity
is untiringly fueled by the worldwide success of Django Reinhardt's
extraordinary artistic experience. Affirmed in 2005 in the competition
"Porsche Live - Giovani e Jazz" in front of a jury presided over by
Paolo Fresu (sponsored by the magazine Musica Jazz for which the band
participated a live cd in May 2006 with an extraordinary press of 25,000
copies) Alma Swing now boasts eminent artistic partnerships, subtantial
recordings and constant participation in festivals and venues
throughout Italy and Europe.
