Le Plumes Quartet naît en 2013 de quatre musiciens qui jouaient ensemble dans une formation réunie par Pierrick Menuau, saxophoniste ténor (Butch Warren, Rhoda Scott, Jean-Philippe Bordier, André Persiani...), sous le nom du Stanley Turrentine Organ Project.

Le groupe joue alors le répertoire sixties de Stanley Turrentine, Tommy Turrentine, Shirley Scott ou encore Les Mac Cann, avec Cédric Piromalli à l’orgue Hammond (Daniel Humair, Sebastien Boisseau, Paul Lovens, Mikko Innanen...), Arnaud Lechantre à la batterie (Benny Golson, Sarah Lazarus, Alain Jean-Marie, Eric Le Lann...) et le guitariste Nicolas Rousserie (Rhoda Scott, Butch Warren, Emmanuel Bex, Mourad Benhammou...).

Ce dernier propose, après quelques concerts, de construire un répertoire de compositions à partir de certains morceaux originaux. Le plaisir et la connivence dans le jeu entre ces quatre musiciens n’étant plus à prouver, la finalisation de l’album se fait naturellement en novembre 2015.

À l’écoute de leur musique, on comprend vite que les musiciens de Plumes se complètent et se retrouvent sur le terrain de l’interaction des rythmes boogaloo jazz et bien sûr du blues. On sent aussi leur profond souci de la forme de la composition et du développement. Influencés sans doute par leur expérience de la musique improvisée (plusieurs des compositions de Plumes sont le résultat d’une idée ou d’un élément tirée du répertoire de Stanley Turrentine : La Montagne du Combattant vient de Gibraltar, La Femme Doigt de Lady Fingers, entre autres).

Plumes Quartet, c’est la vision fantasmée de l’Amérique urbaine et sa musique des années soixante, une vision imagée qui prend corps grâce à l’influence de Stanley Turrentine.

The Quartet Plumes was born in 2013 of four musicians who played together in a formation reunited by Pierrick Menuau, tenor saxophonist (Butch Warren, Rhoda Scott, Jean-Philippe Bordier, André Persiani ...), under the name Stanley Turrentine Organ Project.

The band plays the sixties repertoire of Stanley Turrentine, Tommy Turrentine, Shirley Scott or the Mac Cann, with Cédric Piromalli on the Hammond organ (Daniel Humair, Sebastien Boisseau, Paul Lovens, Mikko Innanen ...), Arnaud Lechantre in the drums (Benny Golson, Sarah Lazarus, Alain Jean-Marie, Eric Le Lann ...) and the guitarist Nicolas Rousserie (Rhoda Scott, Butch Warren, Emmanuel Bex, Mourad Benhammou ...).

The latter proposes, after a few concerts, to build a repertoire of compositions from some original pieces. The pleasure and the connivance in the game between these four musicians being more to prove, the finalization of the album is done naturally in November 2015.

Listening to their music, we quickly understand that the musicians of Plumes complement each other and find themselves on the ground of the interaction of boogaloo jazz rhythms and of course the blues. We also feel their deep concern for the form of composition and development. Influenced probably by their experience of improvised music (many of the compositions of Plumes are the result of an idea or an element drawn from the repertoire of Stanley Turrentine: The Mountain of the Fighter comes from Gibraltar, The Lady Fingers Woman Finger, among others).

Quartet Feathers is the fantasy vision of urban America and its music of the sixties, an imagined vision that takes shape through the influence of Stanley Turrentine.

The Quartet Plumes nació en 2013 de cuatro músicos que tocaron juntos en una formación reunida por Pierrick Menuau, saxofonista tenor (Butch Warren, Rhoda Scott, Jean-Philippe Bordier, André Persiani ...), bajo el nombre de Stanley Turrentine Organ Project.

La banda toca el repertorio de los años sesenta de Stanley Turrentine, Tommy Turrentine, Shirley Scott o Mac Cann, con Cédric Piromalli en el órgano Hammond (Daniel Humair, Sebastien Boisseau, Paul Lovens, Mikko Innanen ...), Arnaud Lechantre en Los tambores (Benny Golson, Sarah Lazarus, Alain Jean-Marie, Eric Le Lann ...) y el guitarrista Nicolas Rousserie (Rhoda Scott, Butch Warren, Emmanuel Bex, Mourad Benhammou ...).

Este último propone, después de algunos conciertos, construir un repertorio de composiciones de algunas piezas originales. El placer y la connivencia en el juego entre estos cuatro músicos son más para probar, la finalización del álbum se realiza de forma natural en noviembre de 2015.

Escuchando su música, comprendemos rápidamente que los músicos de Plumes se complementan y se encuentran en el terreno de la interacción de los ritmos boogaloo de jazz y, por supuesto, el blues. También sentimos su profunda preocupación por la forma de composición y desarrollo. Influenciado probablemente por su experiencia de música improvisada (muchas de las composiciones de Plumes son el resultado de una idea o un elemento extraído del repertorio de Stanley Turrentine: The Mountain of the Fighter viene de Gibraltar, The Lady Fingers Woman Finger, Entre otros).

Quartet Feathers es la visión de fantasía de la América urbana y su música de los años sesenta, una visión imaginada que toma forma a través de la influencia de Stanley Turrentine.
