Maurice Vanderschueren, conocido como Maurice Vander (11 de junio de 1929 - 16 de febrero de 2017), fue un pianista de jazz francés y padre del baterista Christian Vander.
Maurice personificó la edad de oro de París de los años 50, cuando los clubes y cabarets estaban llenos de jazz en vivo. Al poco tiempo de su debut como músico en 1948, comenzó a trabajar con grandes artistas como Don Byas, Django Reinhardt, Johnny Griffin, Bobby Jaspar, Jimmy Raney, Stephane Grappelli, Chet Baker y Kenny Clarke. En 1960 fue músico de sesión de Roger Guerin, Pierre Gossez y Boulou Ferré, y tocó con Claude Nougaro e Ivan Jullien. En 1962 obtuvo el premio Django Reinhardt y se reunió nuevamente con Chet Baker hacia finales de 1970.
Sus últimos trabajos incluyeron actuar y grabar con Kenny Clarke, Richie Cole, Art Farmer y Benny Powell, entre otros. Falleció a los 87 años siendo considerado uno de los pianistas más apreciados en la historia del jazz.

Maurice Vanderschueren, known as Maurice Vander (June 11, 1929 - February 16, 2017), was a French jazz pianist and father of drummer Christian Vander.
Maurice epitomized the golden age of Paris of the 1950s, when clubs and cabarets were filled with live jazz. Soon after his debut as a musician in 1948, he began working with great artists such as Don Byas, Django Reinhardt, Johnny Griffin, Bobby Jaspar, Jimmy Raney, Stephane Grappelli, Chet Baker and Kenny Clarke. In 1960 he was session musician for Roger Guerin, Pierre Gossez and Boulou Ferré, and played with Claude Nougaro and Ivan Jullien. In 1962 he won the Django Reinhardt Award and met again with Chet Baker towards the end of 1970.
His later work included performing and recording with Kenny Clarke, Richie Cole, Art Farmer and Benny Powell, among others. He died at the age of 87 and is considered one of the most appreciated pianists in the history of jazz.
