Claude Papesch • Hammond Spectacular

One of the key figures in the early NZ Rock & Roll scene. Claude Papesch was a blind keyboardist from New Plymouth who was equally at home in jazz, rock & roll and pop. He also produced records.
He moved to Australia in the 1960s where he recorded two albums and appeared on countless sessions.
In later years he was a local politician of some note in New South Wales.
Claude Papesch died in 1987 aged just 45.

Una de las figuras clave de la primera escena del Rock & Roll de Nueva Zelanda. Claude Papesch era un teclista ciego de New Plymouth que se desenvolvía por igual en el jazz, el rock & roll y el pop. También produjo discos.
Se trasladó a Australia en los años sesenta, donde grabó dos álbumes y participó en innumerables sesiones.
En sus últimos años fue un político local de cierta importancia en Nueva Gales del Sur.
Claude Papesch murió en 1987, con sólo 45 años.
