Although the trio was officially born in 2021, we’ve been playing together regularly, in different settings, for almost 15 years - In particular, we’ve engaged with saxophonist Gael Horellou’s quartet, whom I can’t thank enough for having gathered us countless times over the years - It was therefore so obvious for me to ask Antoine and Viktor to share this new adventure and this new music, specially written for the occasion.
Following our first concert as a trio, I felt something completely new in my life as a musician, the feeling of being free, for real, in the moment, here and now, and of belonging - And God that felt so good!
As I’m writing those few lines, I become aware of how important it is, should I say ‘essential’ as far as I am concerned, for one to play their own music with musicians they have freely chosen.
Music is a serious thing! Some spend their whole lives playing it, writing it or simply listening to it in order to understand it - Whether we’re born talented or not, it is the will, often the passion, and always the hard work that make great musicians.

We do not do music, we’re In music - Music is a game, of fathomless richness and depth once we’ve found the right partners - Music is a ‘serious game’ might have said Socrates! And for being even slightly able to approach its beauty and power, let’s just be playful and not take ourselves too seriously!

Aunque el trío nació oficialmente en 2021, hemos estado tocando juntos regularmente, en diferentes escenarios, durante casi 15 años - En particular, hemos colaborado con el cuarteto del saxofonista Gael Horellou, a quien no puedo agradecer lo suficiente que nos haya reunido en innumerables ocasiones a lo largo de los años - Por eso me pareció tan obvio pedir a Antoine y Viktor que compartieran esta nueva aventura y esta nueva música, escrita especialmente para la ocasión.
Tras nuestro primer concierto como trío, sentí algo completamente nuevo en mi vida como músico, la sensación de ser libre, de verdad, en el momento, aquí y ahora, y de pertenecer - Y Dios, ¡qué bien me sentí!
Mientras escribo estas líneas, me doy cuenta de lo importante que es, debería decir "esencial" en lo que a mí respecta, que uno toque su propia música con músicos que ha elegido libremente.
La música es algo serio - Algunos se pasan la vida tocándola, escribiéndola o simplemente escuchándola para entenderla - Tanto si nacemos con talento como si no, es la voluntad, a menudo la pasión, y siempre el trabajo duro lo que hace a los grandes músicos.
¡La música es una cosa seria! No hacemos música, estamos en la música - La música es un juego, de una riqueza y profundidad insondables una vez que hemos encontrado los compañeros adecuados - La música es un "juego serio", podría haber dicho Sócrates - Y para poder acercarnos mínimamente a su belleza y su poder, ¡seamos juguetones y no nos tomemos demasiado en serio!
