Guitarist Mimi Fox has long been a fixture in the San Francisco Bay area. A fine hard bop-based guitarist with a sound of her own (that sometimes hints a little at Grant Green), Fox is in excellent form throughout this CD. Backed on most selections by a local trio, Fox alternates stimulating originals with such standards as "Night and Day" and "My Romance." This set (recorded at a couple of clubs in 1991-1992, and before a live audience in a studio in 1995) concludes with an eight-minute, three-song unaccompanied medley during which Mimi Fox shows off her talents on acoustic guitar. Fine music.

La guitarrista Mimi Fox ha sido durante mucho tiempo una fija en el área de la Bahía de San Francisco. Una excelente guitarrista de hard bop con un sonido propio (que a veces recuerda un poco a Grant Green), Fox está en excelente forma a lo largo de este CD.
