The Baboons are five highly talented guys from Turnhout (Antwerp) Belgium, considered the #1 Rock 'n Roll band in their country and perhaps even in Europe. Experts in rhythm and blues, country, rockabilly, soul, rock ‘n roll…; The Baboons play dancing music!
After the release of their second album, Back Scratch (2011), they've toured extensively all over Europe where they played with legends like Bo Diddley, The Blasters, Jason and the Scorchers,... and in 2013 the band toured California celebrating their 10th year anniversary.
The Baboons have put together the best line-up so far: Bop De Houwer (ex-Seatsniffers), on double bass, and Wim De Busser (Zita Swoon), destroying the keys, are added to the original threesome Kristof Koijen (guitar), Gust Van Gils (drums) and Arthur De Winter, one of the best vocalists of the scene.
Autumn 2014, they finished recording their third album featuring 12 original compositions and a cover of Art Neville's I'm just A Fool to Care. The record is called Uptown and Back Again and is according to the critics, their best album yet!
With the success of the Youtube hit Drinking Gasoline, of the first album Boogie Curse (2008), and the rest of their exciting existing repertoire, the Baboons will live up to their reputation of delivering stunning performances and are determined to set every festival or venue on fire!
