The main significance to this outing by a sextet led by cornetist Tommy Peltier is that Rahsaan Roland Kirk (sticking to flute, stritch, tenor and baritone and playing no more than one at a time) is a participant.
The leader contributed all of the compositions along with some fine solos but it is Kirk who is the main star; supporting players include Freddy Rodriguez on flute, alto and tenor and vibraphonist Lynn Blessing. It is interesting to hear how the innovations of the free jazz groups affected more mainstream units such as The Jazz Corps but the results are not all that essential.
