Art Webb • Mr. Flute

 



 Artie Webb "Art", nace un 24 de septiembre en Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Estados Unidos 🇺🇸. Desctado Flautista de Jazz, y que también trabajara en Salsa de la mano de Ray Barretto y otros mas.

De pequeño, estudió en Overbrook High School de 1965 a 1968. También estudió en la Academia Musical de Philadelphia. A temprana edad, en la adolescencia, empezó a trabajar como flautista en una orquesta de Jazz.

Su oportunidad trascendental en la Salsa llega para el año 1974, de la mano de Ray Barretto para el álbum de ese año. Webb, catapultó su nombre hacia la historia de la Salsa, ejecutando un maravilloso solo de flauta en el tema composición e interpretación de Rubén Blades, "Ban Ban Quere".

Además de la orquesta de Barretto "El Manos Duras", Art, también participó con el "Conjunto Amistad" de Johnny Polanco y con el "Conjunto Afrosound", entre otros.

Actualmente, está radicado en Los Ángeles, California, desde donde trabaja con su presentando su propuesta Jazzística en el Club The Granada LA y en su propia compañía de producciones.

 Artie Webb "Art", was born on September 24th in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States 🇺🇸. He is a distinguished Jazz Flautist, who also worked in Salsa with Ray Barretto and others.

As a child, he studied at Overbrook High School from 1965 to 1968. He also studied at the Philadelphia Musical Academy. In his early teens, he began working as a flutist in a jazz orchestra.

His transcendental opportunity in Salsa came in 1974, with Ray Barretto for that year's album. Webb catapulted his name into the history of Salsa, performing a wonderful flute solo on Ruben Blades' composition and interpretation of the song "Ban Ban Quere".

In addition to Barretto's orchestra "El Manos Duras", Art also performed with Johnny Polanco's "Conjunto Amistad" and "Conjunto Afrosound", among others.

Currently, he is based in Los Angeles, California, where he works with his Jazz proposal at The Granada LA Club and in his own production company.
