Pianist Connie Crothers and drummer Max Roach are heard on the initial release by the New Artists label performing six duets. The music is generally pretty free, and Crothers shows that she had shed much of her original Lennie Tristano influence while remaining true to his musical principles. As for Roach, he sounds quite enthusiastic in this adventurous setting.
