Sandy Nelson es un batería estadounidense. Nelson, uno de los baterías de rock más conocidos de la década de 1960, tuvo varios solistas instrumentales Top 40 hits y fue un batería de sesión de muchos otros éxitos conocidos, y grabando más de 30 álbumes.

Canción "Teen Beat" de Nelson subió al # 4 en las listas en 1959. Posteriormente firmó con el sello imperial y colocó dos canciones más en el Top 40 hits, "Let There Be Drums", que llegó al # 3 en el Reino Unido, y "Drums Are My Beat". Los tres eran instrumentales (una hazaña rara vez, o nunca, se repite).

Sandy Nelson is an American drummer. Nelson, one of the best known rock drummers of the 1960s, had several Top 40 instrumental soloists and was a session drummer on many other well-known hits, and recording over 30 albums.

Nelson's song "Teen Beat" rose to #4 on the charts in 1959. He later signed with the Imperial label and placed two more songs in the Top 40 hits, "Let There Be Drums", which reached #3 in the UK, and "Drums Are My Beat". All three were instrumental (a feat rarely, if ever, repeated).

Sander L Nelson was born on December 1, 1938 in Santa Monica, California. He attended high school with Jan Berry, Dean Torrence (who together became Jan and Dean), and Kim Fowley. After gaining respect as a studio drummer, he played in such well-known songs as "To Know Him Is To Love Him" (Spector's Phil Teddy Bears, 1958), "alley-oop" (The Hollywood Argyles, 1960), "A Thousand Stars" (Kathy Young and the Innocents, 1960) and more.
