A rare 1954 date from saxophonist Al Cohn – not issued to the public until this 1970 LP, but easily one of Al's best from the early days! The approach is straight and simple, something Al didn't always get – and the group's a quintet with Hal Stein on alto and Harvey Leonard on piano. The players aren't well known, but they keep the groove enough to let Al shine amazingly well on tenor – especially on the album's longer tracks, which have some nice nice solo space! Titles include 2 takes of "Broadway", plus "Suddenly It's Spring" and "Help Keep Your City Clean Blues".

Una fecha rara de 1954 del saxofonista Al Cohn - no publicada al público hasta este LP de 1970, ¡pero fácilmente uno de los mejores de Al de los primeros días! El enfoque es directo y sencillo, algo que Al no siempre consiguió, y el grupo es un quinteto con Hal Stein al contralto y Harvey Leonard al piano. Los músicos no son muy conocidos, pero mantienen el ritmo lo suficiente como para permitir que Al brille increíblemente bien con el tenor, especialmente en las pistas más largas del álbum, ¡que tienen un buen espacio para los solos!
