Soon after this young keyboard wiz emigrated from Czechoslovakia to the U.S. (and a couple years before he joined the Mahavishnu Orchestra), he and his trio recorded this inspired live 1969 performance. This is nothing less than Jan Hammer's recording debut, originally released by the German jazz label MPS.
