This is volume 13 of Duke Ellington "The Treasury Shows". Jerry Valburn is the Producer of the DETS series which will result in 24 double CDs at its completion. The series was launched on April 7th, 1945 while the band was performing at the 400 Restaurant in New York City. These wonderful broadcasts ran through November 1945 and picked up again in April 1946 through early October. Included are also some interesting broadcasts from 1943 through 1954 where Duke performed for the Treasury Department, radio remotes from New York’s New Zanzibar & Birdland and thos broadcast from Meadowbrook Gardens in Culver City, California and the Blue Note in Chicago.

Este es el volumen 13 de Duke Ellington "The Treasury Shows". Jerry Valburn es el Productor de la serie DETS que dará como resultado 24 CD dobles a su finalización. Jerry Valburn is the Producer of the DETS series that was launched on April 7th, 1945 while the band was performing at the 400 Restaurant in New York City. These wonderful broadcasts ran through November 1945 and picked up again in April 1946 through early October. It is something of a miracle that these precious broadcasts survived all these years and are in such good quality as well.

Treasury volume 15 contains Treasury program 28 & 29 + 2MBS Broadcasts from the "Pastel Period". This is the first volumen that Storyville issues after Jerry Valburn’s death. The series will continue till the end which will be volume 24. We have had help from Sjef Hoefsmit. The Treasury Shows was launched on April 7th, 1945 while the band was performing at the 400 Restaurant in New York. These wonderful broadcasts ran through November 1945 and picked up again in April 1946 through early October. Each program was 55 minutes therefore we have extra radio programs from 1943 to 1954, On this volume broadcasts from the Hurricane Restaurant.

El volumen 15 de Treasury contiene los programas 28 y 29 de Treasury + 2 emisiones de MBS del "Periodo Pastel". Este es el primer volumen que publica Storyville tras la muerte de Jerry Valburn. CD 1 contains Treasury Show 30 with ‘Come Sunday’ and ‘Light’ from ‘Black, Brown and Beige’ and ‘I Ain’t Got Nothin’ But The Blues’ with vocals by Al Hibbler and Kay Davis + ‘Cotton Tail’ and ‘Waiting For The Train To Come’ and many more. There are three unissued bonus tracks from June 1943: ‘Bakiff’ from MBS broadcast, ‘Pastel Period’ from the Hurricane Restaurant + ‘Just Squeeze Me’ and ‘Main Stem’ from MBS broadcasts from The Hurricane Restaurant, June 7, 1943.
