Stephane Grappelli • Live In London

One of the best groups that violinist Stephane Grappelli collaborated with during the second half of his long career has been the Hot Club of London, a unit led by guitarist Diz Disley and usually including a second rhythm guitarist and a bassist. This Black Lion CD reissues the entire contents of a former two-LP set (I Got Rhythm) and even has room for a previously unreleased version of "Them There Eyes." Grappelli sounds particularly inspired playing with this group, very comfortable with the drumless setting and free to dominate the proceedings.

Uno de los mejores grupos con los que colaboró el violinista Stéphane Grappelli durante la segunda mitad de su larga carrera ha sido el Hot Club de Londres, una unidad liderada por el guitarrista Diz Disley y que suele incluir un segundo guitarrista rítmico y un bajista. Este CD de Black Lion reedita todo el contenido de un antiguo set de dos LP (I Got Rhythm) e incluso tiene espacio para una versión inédita de "Them There Eyes". Grappelli suena particularmente inspirado al tocar con este grupo, muy cómodo con el escenario sin batería y libre para dominar los procedimientos.
