Review
by Scott Yanow
Phil Woods and fellow altoist Gene Quill had similar styles at the time of this quintet recording, for which they are accompanied by pianist Bob Corwin, bassist Sonny Dallas and drummer Nick Stabulas. They jam enthusiastically on five bop standards and Woods's "Hymn for Kim." Although not really essential, bebop fans may want to search for this hard-to-find LP.
