The Cats • Neo-Boogaloo

Jay Thomas, John Hansen, Chuck Kistle and Adam Kessler are The Cats. This crew of all-star jazzers creates a four way collective for further explorations of boogaloo and cantaloupe grooving. There are odd-meter time signatures; and these guys are highly intrinsic boppers, but most fans probably won't get that at first; they'll just feel the nice snappish jazzy groove on classic compositions by Herbie Hancock, Horace Silver, Hank Mobley and more. Jay Thomas, a native of Seattle, is a versatile multi-instrumentalist (trumpet, flugelhorn, alto, tenor, soprano and flutes). His music could be described as lyrical without losing touch with the blues. He has played on countless scores, innumerable gigs, tantamount tours of Japan and beyond. He goes back to days of Slim Gaillard and Herb Ellis and beyond. John Hansen and Chuck Kistler pull in a wealth of experience in accompanying while playing at the top of their game. Adam Kessler sparks into action from behind a tasty facade.

Jay Thomas, John Hansen, Chuck Kistle y Adam Kessler son The Cats.
