Written to accompany an exhibition in 2001-2002 at the National Gallery
of Art in Washington, DC, this hefty and attractive catalog showcases
140 pieces from the collection. Each work is represented in a full-page
color plate with a lengthy, annotated entry on the facing page. Robison
provides an introduction, which describes the National Gallery's drawing
collection. An essay by Judith Walsh discusses artists' paper as it was
used and developed during the 20th century. Both editors are curators
at the National Gallery.
