Pelican Crossing is like a well-planned, chaotic, romantic, vibrant and plush dream offered up by N. Ireland’s Blue Jar.  The album has plenty of vibrant stings and fingers that really extend into a couple different genres and moods.  My best description of this album would be to call it ‘gypsy jazz’, but it’s much more than my meager description lends it credit for.  It’s really a concoction of jazz, classical, and vaudeville instrumentation with vocals thrown in (or should I say expertly placed and executed) by Lesley Dennison.   Pelican Crossing is a 14 track adventure.  Relaxing and at times sensual and exciting.

Pelican Crossing es como un sueño bien planeado, caótico, romántico, vibrante y afelpado ofrecido por Blue Jar de Irlanda del Norte.  El álbum tiene un montón de vibrantes aguijones y dedos que realmente se extienden en un par de géneros y estados de ánimo diferentes.  Mi mejor descripción de este álbum sería llamarlo "jazz gitano", pero es mucho más de lo que mi escasa descripción le da crédito.  En realidad, es una mezcla de jazz, música clásica e instrumentación de vodevil con la voz de Lesley Dennison (o, mejor dicho, colocada y ejecutada de forma experta).   Pelican Crossing es una aventura de 14 pistas.  Relajante y a veces sensual y emocionante.

TTOMMY LOCKE (guitar) studied at the Ulster College of Music in Ireland. In over 30 years in the music business he has been involved with most styles of music, numerous bands and many commercial recordings. He recently performed and recorded with the esteemed Louis Stewart.
LESLEY LOCKE (violin/vocals) studied at Trinity College of Music, London. She has freelanced with many orchestras throughout the UK and Ireland. She was with the Dennison String Quartet for 25 years and is currently playing with Aphrodite Strings in Cyprus. She has made many recordings and performances for TV and Radio; most notably playing with Vanessa Mae live on BBC
